At the end of May, students from several courses at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) visited St James’ Palace in London to perform before Prince Charles and other VIPs. Among the performers were six representatives from the post graduate Musical Theatre course and an excerpt from Whisky Kisses was chosen as the finale to the whole evening’s entertainment! Apparently, the royal host was suitable amused by the presentation! It’s been a long-held ambition to appear on the London stage… not quite sure if St James’ Palace qualifies as the West End, but as far as Dave and I are concerned, the show appeared on a stage in London, therefore we have officially made it! Hilary Brooks, our Musical Director, assured us the performance was very strong and after the show, some high-profile dignatories let it be known they enjoyed the piece and asked for tickets for Whisky kisses at the Fringe. Result!
